01 / ABOUT
About the workshop
LuminaryWorks is the orchestration layer of an AI-native open ecosystem — it maintains narrative, standards and shared packages, not each product's governance.
02 / NAMING
What “Works” means
In English tech usage, “Works” means workshop, lab or skunk works — hands-on creation of hard products.
- Same spirit as Skunk Works, ThoughtWorks or DreamWorks: builders shipping products, not a holding company slide deck.
- The Chinese name 启明工坊 is fine in marketing; repos, domains, GitHub orgs and npm scopes stay English.
- Each product has its own Chinese name; differentiation is logo, role and one-liner — not per-product accent colors.
03 / HOUSE OF BRANDS
House of Brands
Multiple independent brands — not a single branded house. Each product can target a different audience.
- The parent brand maintains ecosystem narrative, cross-product standards (Identity / Entitlement / deployment contracts) and @luminaryworks/* packages.
- Each product has its own GitHub org, domain, release cadence, LICENSE and Casbin policy.
- The central catalog manages hosted plans and Trial, but never shares business databases or runtime imports across products.
04 / LICENSE
License & commercial use
Source code is published under Polyform Noncommercial License 1.0.0; commercial use requires a separate grant.
- Non-commercial use (learning, research, internal evaluation) is allowed under Polyform-NC terms.
- Hosted SaaS, private delivery, OEM embedding or any commercial scenario needs a separate commercial license from LuminaryWorks.
- Individual product repos may carry additional LICENSE files — the repo root declaration wins.
